Tell us about yourself and what inspired you to start writing.
I am a professional engineer who lives in Kentucky. I’m married and have one son. I’m an avid fan of the Kentucky Wildcats in particular and of the SEC in general. And I read a lot. Most of the time, I’m either working, writing, reading or watching sports.
I’ve been writing my whole life, but it’s only been since the advent of KDP that I’ve done something about it.
Tell us about your books.
I write both science fiction and mystery/thrillers. My first novel was a libertarian science-fiction novel called “Hell’s Foundations Quiver”. I then wrote two mystery/thrillers in the “Lincoln Confidential” series. My fourth book was back to sci-fi with “The World of Erganna”, a throwback to pulp sci-fi adventure.
How did you go about getting published?
I went the self-publishing route because at least it gives me a chance.
What is your writing process? Do you have a time, day or place you like to write?
Because I have to write around the job the actually pays the bills, I usually write early in the morning or at night.
What do you like to do when you’re not writing? Full-time job, pets, hobbies?
I’m a professional engineer. As I mentioned earlier, I am usually working, writing, reading or watching sports.
Any advice for authors about book covers?
Don’t underestimate their importance.
Any marketing tips you’d like to share with other authors?
I’m terrible at marketing. I should be the one receiving advice!
What’s your favorite book?
“A Case of Conscience” by James Blish
What are you reading now?
A collection of 1930’s stories from Weird Tales magazine.
What’s your next book project?
My current WIP is a third “Lincoln Confidential” novel. After that, I’m going to do a sequel to “The World of Erganna”.
