Before writing Fast-Pitch Love, I spent over 20 years as a writer and editor for Ohio’s State Board of Education. My creative work has appeared in central Ohio publications, including the Columbus Dispatch and Spring Street, Columbus State Community College’s literary magazine. I have also edited numerous books, including a biography of Christopher Columbus, written by a member of Italy’s Senate, and A Death Prolonged by Dr. Jeff Gordon, which received coverage in the New York Times and on PBS. The softball sequences in the story reflect the two years I spent interacting with softball players and coaches in both competition and practice.
