Tell us about yourself and what inspired you to start writing.
I am a writer in my early 40s and began writing in middle school, where I placed 3rd and 1st in two city-wide writing contests, consecutively, which sparked my interest in the subject. Later I began to write raps as a growing teen. This kept me involved in the process. It wasn’t until my late twenties that I decided to write books again. I was inspired by God and began writing the books that I am known for today.
Tell us about your books.
I have six published works, available online. They are mostly historical fiction and have to do with famous military events in the past. For God and Country tells the story of a young man fighting in the battle of Tarawa Atoll, November, 20-28, 1943. Seven Chiefs is the story of two young American Indian braves fighting in the battle of Little Bighorn (Custer’s Last Stand). The Boar and The Leopard is the story of young soldiers fighting in the battle of Waterloo. Also in it, the careers of Napoleon and Wellington are highlighted. The Foundation of Heaven is a novel about the fall of the Aztec Empire (Old Mexico). Finally, Paint It Black is the story of the African-American soldier in the Vietnam war, during the year 1968.
How did you go about getting published?
I began my publishing journey self-publishing through Author House. They accepted my manuscripts and worked with me to get them copyrighted and eventually published.
What is your writing process? Do you have a time, day or place you like to write?
When I write I usually close the door and set aside 7 to 8 hours which I devote entirely to the craft. I write in the office room of my house, on my PC.
What do you like to do when you’re not writing? Full-time job, pets, hobbies?
When I’m not writing I devote my time to the business side of the craft; advertising, marketing, promoting etc. I try to engage the community around me to make myself better known. For fun, I play video games, read, and exercise.
